Ok, so I've been doing some canon review and it kind of confirmed the struggle I've been having with Jen's live action pb, Piper Peraboo. Apparently Jen is supposed to be considerably taller than they draw her half the time, but that's not the main issue. All the icons I could get for her were blonde-ish to blonde, without glasses, no green eyes, no decent 'grr' faces, and could pass for twenty rather than thirty something.

So...I spent way too long today trying to find a better replacement. The two options I've found that are close to right are Tina Fey and Amanda Peet, albeit in completely different ways. Of course, I'm not really happy enough with either to switch over to either right away. Instead, I'm going to ask opinions from the f-list. Yay or nay to either one or suggestions for other options would be great.

And it's entirely possible I won't change at all.

I am so glad Walter!mun and I aren't the only ones who agonise over PBs. XD Do not ask me how many actors I gouged eyes out of in Photoshop.

Between Fey and Peet... my goodness, this is tough. I like Fey a lot as she is a beautiful woman who doesn't look like she's trying to be 22 forever. But I feel she might come with too many associations? So I think my vote is for Peet.

I can't think of any other smart-looking brunette actresses at the moment besides Sandra Bullock. :P

Oh, you so aren't, though I can't say I ever removed an eye in photoshop. Pbs can drive me up the wall.

Fey was my 'I want to, but I probably shouldn't' choice. The only reason I didn't go for Peet is, while she works most of the time, but she may have played too many vicious women for it to quite fit in my head for Jen.

...HA. I've been considering Bullock, too, no lie. She's got times where she wore glasses, the right build, and fight scenes. But she's always going to be Sandra Bullock.

Threshy gave me an awful time simply because I finally had to break down and use someone well known. Usually I'm like, "yeah, use the random actor from that French-language movie nobody saw!"

Hah, that was sort of my feeling! "I want to say yes, buuuuut..."
It's amazing how much the PB can wind up affecting the voice of the muse, so I get that.

XD Yeah, and she has the "I am smart but I snort when I laugh" voice. But yeah, I get that too. Hm. ...you could steal an icon of each and write like, a 100 word drabble thing and see which matches?

I've got to give you credit, though. Other than the obligatory impressive chest icon you picked some great pictures I haven't seen used all that much. And his pb is great for that balance between predatory with occasional flashes of vulnerability.

It's because she's awesome, but too much an icon in her own right.
It really shouldn't, but it's amazing how a different set of features can shift a voice.

Yes! This is a great idea. It'll make it so much easier to decide which feels like her.

I've actually used Lawless as a pb for another character before. It would be a weird cross over. But...Matthew!mun may be tempting me into trying Sandra Bullock out alongside Peet and Fey in an icon off.

They're evil and somewhat necessary things.

Peet is the closest to Peraboo physically, but she's been the evil girlfriend so many times it's kind of warping my view on her. I'm going to try something with the three options I have in mind and see how they fit.

i've been checking in perodically mostly because i'm horrible with suggestions, but i think my favorite so far has been sandra. i think the only person i could really offer up as a suggestion is brooke sheilds but, merrr, she's been blonde an awful lot and i can't think of her wearing glasses in anything specific.

Yikes. I was finishing an exam and am therefore late to the party. My vote would have been for Pete, but since I'm a longtime Sandra fan, woooo.

ALSO I approve of Sandra. Tina's a little too comedy-connected and...Fey-ish, and Amanda Peet's too harsh-looking, in my ever-humble opinion.

Sandra's always struck me as no-nonsense, a bamf with a heart of gold and a little exasperated at how the world can't just stay saved. It's so true how PB careers affect how we view the characters. FUN FACT: Leif was originally straight. Also, he was originally a humanized version of a cartoon character, but. Whatever.

This is exactly why I can never decide whether or not I think PBs are amazing or evil. And yet, I love them. I have problems.
