Jen was surprised and pleased by the fact Luke had offered to drive down to see her. He was a New York City man, and she was working. But then, she should be more used to being able to depend on him. She was learning to enjoy it.

While he wouldn't admit it to anyone, other than probably Jen herself, Luke had missed having her there. It was a surprising revelation really. He'd been a bachelor for years and had been worried that moving in with Jen would be a mistake. Now though, he found himself missing having here there. Green or not, her physical presence was a comfort to him. If asked though, he'd just say he missed the sex. Guy's got a reputation to think about after all.

Thanks to his trusty GPS, he'd arrive at the hotel after a not too taxing drive. Getting out, he called up her cell as he made his way inside.

She picks up on the first ring. She's been playing with her phone all evening, first to get through the night, then waiting for him to get through the drive. It doesn't matter that it's a short in a relative sense, her day has been a very long one. Waiting for him makes it seem longer, but at least there's the reward of a familiar and welcome man. Living together has become something that's comfortable and familiar. She could use the affection and the comfortable feeling of having him in her company. So there's a smile in her voice when she answers.

"How far are you, Luke?"

Hearing that smile in her voice brings a smile to his face as well.

"Walking into the lobby now. What room are you in? I can't wait to see you."

That last bit slipped out before he could stop it, though once it's out there he doesn't mind.

"I'm in room 231, so you're almost here. I can't wait to see you either."

The admission is easy, but then Jen doesn't exactly have a reputation to protect that way. Her history with men is frequently casual but she gets treated more seriously when she is more serious. Just one of the differences in what's expected of men and womehn that she's gotten used to, even if she doesn't exactly relish it.

First, he starts towards the elevators, but when he sees the stairs are closer, he thinks to hell with it and runs up the single flight of stairs to the second floor. Odds are it would've taken three times as long on the elevator anyways. Walking quickly down the hall, he soon finds her room and gives a knock.

Jen has the door open before the knock has a chance to echo. She's not exactly sitting there waiting in a negligee, but with her hair down her blouse unbuttoned just right, she made some effort not to look a mess when he arrived. "Hey there."

Luke has always been more a fan of natural beauty anyways and seeing her with her hair down, and her blouse like that, a grin spreads across his face as he looks her up and down. "Hey there. I heard you ordered some entertainment for your stay."
